Abstract
Background :This study was conducted to find out the variables affecting the will of blood redonation.

Methods: The subjects were blood (469) donors who visited blood banks of Red Cross of Daejeon and Chungnam province during September 6-10, 2004.

Results: 1. In general characteristics of subjects, there was a significant difference, that is, male and non-believers showed higher intention of blood redonation in the individual blood donation, while there was no significant difference in the group of blood donation. 2. In realities of blood donation, individuals who had donated blood more times and those who agreed to registered blood donation showed higher will of blood redonation. And also those groups which agreed to registered blood donation showed higher will of blood redonation, and there was significant difference. 3. In the level of health recognition, there was a significant difference, that is, blood donors who recognized themselves healthy showed higher will of blood redonation. And blood donors who considered that blood donation is good for health showed higher will of blood redonation. 4. There was a signi-ficant difference, that is, the higher positive recognition and emotion was, the higher blood redonation was. 5. In the blood donation, there was significant difference as individuals whose external motives were lower and internal motives were higher showed higher will of blood redonation, and there was significant difference in the internal motives of groups. In public service of individuals and groups, there was significant difference, that is, the higher participation in public service was, the higher the will of blood redonation was. 6. There was significant difference, that is, individuals and groups showed higher will of blood redonation when the satisfaction of general, human, and whole service was high. 7. In multiple logistic regression analysis of individual blood donation, the number of blood donation, positive recognition, internal motives, and the satisfaction on human service were significant variables. In the group blood donation, sex and positive recognition were significantly variables.

Conclusion: To activate the blood redonation, it is necessary to try to make group blood donors, who donate blood first, as individual blood donor by giving them good image on it. And also, it is known that as individual blood donors are more likely to participate in the blood redonation as they donate blood more often, and that the first experience of blood donation leads to individual blood donation and registered blood donation.
